Does the SDK support live streaming?
I don't see why it can't though... Any advice?

Hey Eric,

Which SDK are you using (HTML5, Flash, iOS, Android)? None of them officially support live streaming, but there are ways you could make it work depending on the SDK.

Thanks,

Hi Shawn,

Currently, we are focusing on Android (mobile being our priority) and Html5 (desktop users) SDK. We may also want to look into iOS market in the future as well...

So do you think the Android SDK can support live streaming w/o much hack?

For desktop, we can switch to Flash SDK if it support live streaming...

Thanks!

Eric

Hey Eric,

So none of our SDKs support live streaming out of the box, but there are ways to try to make it work. What we've recommended to developers in the past is to set up some kind of service on the client side that's listening for a signal from the server side. When it's time to play an ad, the server can send that signal and the requestAds method can be called on the client side. It's similar to how a preroll-only implementation works (just request ads and the SDK will play them as soon as it gets them), but in this case instead of requesting ads when the video starts, you'll request ads when your client side gets that signal from the server. If you have any other questions let us know!

Thanks,

Hi Shawn,

Thanks. This is exactly what we were thinking!

Eric
