Hello, I'm getting this error while reading my VAST tag (find attached) with the HTML5 player of your inspector:

Same VAST works fine with the Flash player. Is it about the encoding of the ad video ?

Hi Arnaud,

If your creative is not streaming switch it to progressive. The streaming is used for streaming the creative, while progressive will download the creative upon playback. I have tried with progressive and that works for me.
Let me know if that solves your issue.

I'm getting that error in Chrome with delivery="progressive" and cannot get pre-rolls to play. Flash is disabled.  MP4s in the VAST play directly in the same Chrome browser.

VAST .xml and .json attached.

Hi Larry,

Did you try your ad response in our Video Suite Inspector? I was able to play your ad without errors, which means you're most likely running into an issue with your implementation. I would suggest taking a look at our HTML5 samples and comparing your implementation against ours.

I tested the ad in the Video Suite inspector, latest version of Chrome, and received the same error:

Events

(11:27:57 AM) Ads loaded.
(11:27:57 AM) Ad event: loaded
(11:27:57 AM) Ad error: AdError 403: Linear assets were found in the VAST ad response, but none of them matched the video player's capabilities.

With this ad call:

Results are inconsistent across machines. Same implementation works on some machines and not others. Mid-rolls work in all cases.  We have business units complaining about pre-rolls not playing consistently. What has IMA changed?

Hi Larry,

The link that you've shared returns a different VAST response on each ad request (so far none of which have caused me any issues). Can you send me Charles Logs with an ad response that is giving you this error?

There have been no changes to the SDK that would cause this. The unpredictability you're facing is likely due to the tag sometimes returning incompatible creatives.

Charles log attached as a Google Drive link. In this case no preroll played and after seeking a midroll played.

I've inspected the preroll creatives and in all cases they have been mp4s, as expected. I pasted the ad asset urls into the chrome address bar and the ad video played.
