Ad error: AdError 1009: The VAST response document is empty.

Hello, I am testing my vast tag on the page https://developers.google.com/interactive-media-ads/docs/sdks/html5/vastinspector and getting error: 

Ad error: AdError 1009: The VAST response document is empty.

But if I use my tag in the Chrome address bar and open as web page, I get normal XML reply from ad server with ads parameters. Why does tag get empty XML from ad server on test page? The same error I get in the BasicExample IMA SDK Android project (SDK 3.9.0). Please help.

Hi Anton,

I was able to replicate the issue on the Video Suite Inspector (VSI) as well. One thing to note about the AdError 1009 is that this indicates an ad serving issue. You would need to reach out to your creative provider for further assistance.

With regards to your query "How can i do a google vast tag without video" , I believe you are referring to non-linear ads. These kinds of ads are not video and just stay at the bottom of your content. A sample non-linear tag can be found below and you can test that using our VSI tool.

To create these kinds of ad tags, you need to contact your ad provider as the ad configuration is done there and not within SDK.
