Cookies in the Android SDK

Hello,

we're very keen on using the IMA SDK in our apps and we're evaluating the Android IMA SDK at the moment. (We're using VAST 2) 

We tested some ad tags in the html5 VAST inspector and in the BasicExample Android app

In html5 all works fine, however the BasicExample doesn't get any ads served. 

In the intercepted network traffic, we see that the BasicExample Android app is not sending any cookies, contrary to the html5 inspector which sends cookies correctly. 

I'm afraid we cannot avoid using cookies. Can the Android IMA SDK handle cookies at all? Could you give us some pointers how to get the Android IMA SDK to send cookies?

We already tried a couple of ways to set default cookie handler in our app but it seems to have no effect.

We'll be happy to provide the ad tag in question in private communication.

Hi Jakub,

The IMA SDK for Android does not currently support handling cookies. However, I would be happy to investigate if you'd like to send along the ad tag you're using.

thanks, that would explain it. We didn't know that cookies were not supported. I'll inquire here though to get an ad tag we could share.

There are no updates to report. The Android SDK currently does not support cookies. Please also see the reply that my colleague made on your other post.  In the future, please refrain from opening more than one thread for a single issue.
