Sending custom data in VAST

Dear IMA team,

I'd like to send some custom data through VAST to the player rendering the video with ad (data for showing a custom cta button while the ad is playing - xml, or json).

Since the Extensions and CreativeExtensions tags are not available in (parsed by) the HTML5 IMA SDK, is there any other tag in VAST, which I can use for this and is parsed by the SDK?

AdParameters maybe?

Hi Tibor,

In the IMA SDK, you can use the getTraffickingParameters() or the getTraffickingParametersString() methods of the Ad object to retrieve any custom parameters associated to your ad. However, if you wish to add or send custom parameters via the IMA SDK, then, I'm afraid that this is currently not supported.

You may try and get in touch with your publisher on how you can configure your ad tags to contain custom data/parameters. I hope this helps.

Thank you for the quick answer, with these methods I am able to use the data in the AdParameters tag.

Is there any chance of implementing a way in the IMA SDK to access the Extensions or CreativeExtensions tags in the VAST response?

My apologies as there is currently no feature in the IMA SDK that can be used to retrieve or access extensions/creative extensions.
