The IMA SDK for HTML5 (specifically, the google.ima.Ad class) currently lacks API methods for retrieving the following macros/ad metadata from DFP:

  1. Ad unit ID (%epid! in DFP
  2. Advertiser ID (%eadv! in DFP. google.ima.Ad.getAdvertiserName() appears to return the name, not an ID)
  3. Order ID (%ebuy! in DFP)
  4. Pattern match macro (%%PATTERN:key%% in DFP
Can you please advise on when the above is expected to be implemented?
In the meantime, can you please advise on ways (both sanctioned best practices and known unofficial workarounds would be helpful) to retrieve the above metadata fields within an IMA SDK for HTML5 implementation?

Thanks very much,
Christine

Hi Christine,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Let me check with the rest of the team if it's possible to create API methods in IMA SDK HTML5 to retrieve macros/ad metadata from DFP.

I would also suggest reaching out to Publisher Support for more complete insight into the DFP macros.

Regards,
Janica Khemlani
