HEllo every one, when usnig Google IMA to show a video ad on mobile devices (Chrome on Android )

I cannot scroll when the touch start event occur on the video.

I can read this error in console:

Unable to preventDefault inside passive event listener due to target being treated as passive.

Is this a known issue ?

Hi Guillaume,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Given the behavior described, the issue seems to be with your implementation. The IMA SDK for HTML5 renders the ad's player inside the AdDisplayContainer that you implemented, you should be in total control and able to fix any issue related to the touch start event. Were you able to reproduce the behavior using our HTML5 Advanced example?

Hi

I could reproduce the issue with the following configuration :
Env: Chrome mobile emulator

To reproduce, wait 2 seconds and then try to scroll on the page by clicking on the video player and going up or down.

Note that it prevents the scrolling on the page when it occurs, which can be quite troublesome.

Regards,
Loïc.

Hi Loic,

Thank you for providing additional insights with regards to the behavior. We were not able to replicate the behavior that you're seeing with the VSI page not scrolling on the emulator (see screenshot attached). However, I don't see how this behavior is caused by the SDK, it seems to be a CSS issue or an emulator issue since I wasn't able to reproduce it using Chrome on a Samsung 8+. Can you confirm whether or not the SDK throws an error message when it occurs?

Hi Arnaud,

Please find attached a video of the problem occurring (with a pixel 2 device, I could also reproduce using the galaxy S5). It appears when you try to scroll on the page by dragging the mouse from inside the video player.
As of why the SDK would cause this issue, I would guess that the click listeners on the video player are trying to prevent the click propagation?

Thanks for your time,
Loïc.

Find here an mp4 file since the gif format seems not to work correctly.

Hi Loic,

This is Arnaud's colleague and I'll be assisting you today.

Thank you for sharing this information. I was now able to replicate the behavior that you're seeing using Chrome browser via Pixel 2XL emulator. The VSI page not scrollable upon pressing the video player while the ad is playing (please see attached video recording). That said, I'm going to share this to my teammates to investigate further and we will get back to you once we have our findings.
