Hi,

I am working with a CTV platform (not on the below list) who want to insert advertising into their content app partners which I will be managing through ad manager (Non DAI).

I want to send them an IMA SDK code to integrate but if I understand it correctly, I won't be able to do this if the platform is not in the below list and not able to do on a content app without being connected to a platform?

A bit new to the whole integration part of CTV and would appreciate your help.

Thanks

Hi ARF,

Thank you for reaching out to us. The list attached to your email is missing. However, the IMA SDK is supported by a variety of platforms such as Android, HTML5, Google Cast, iOS and tvOS. There are some additional platforms and devices that we partially support given their OS specs on which you can implement the IMA SDK.

Hi Arnaud,

Thanks for your reply and information. The platform I am working with is not on the list you sent over it's quite new so wouldn't expect it to be.
What happens in this case? Can I not monetise a content app without it having a recognised platform from your link? Can the content app be monetised without it? or is there some sort of standard IMA SDK code they can implement on their app?

Thanks

Hi Ariel,

Thanks for your response. Please note that the list of devices and platforms provided in our documentation are just sample integrations and are intended only for illustration and do not imply any official support for IMA.

Hence, even though the platform that you're working with is not in the list, you can still be able to integrate the IMA SDK and develop applications conforming to the platform's OS compatibility. For example, devices that support Android applications can use the IMA SDK for Android implementation and integrate multimedia ads.

Hi Sherwin,

I had a follow up question on this from the client I was hoping you could help me answer.

"The Google IMA SDK will not work on all target devices. Newer Samsung TVs (Tizen), Fire TV and a selected LG TVs will work but we are targeting also platforms that are currently not compatible with the Google IMA HTML5 IMA SDKs due to non-standard browsers or proprietary video players.

For these we require ad tags using VAST 2.0, VAST 3.0, VAST 4.0 (without VPAID) that we implement in the players on these devices.

Can you please check with Google how these can be implemented?"

Thanks,
Ariel

Hi,

There's no particular way to implement the ad tags, we use the standard IMA implementations for all the
VAST specs. Feel free to use any of our IMA SDK Sample Apps to test your VAST XMLs. We also have sample ad tags that you can use if you don't have any ad server set up yet.
