Hello,
Just resurrecting this issue from 2016 which still seems to be unsupported:
Original message:
___________________________________
"The VAST <Error> element is optional but if included, the video player must send a request to the URI provided when the VAST response returns an empty InLine response after a chain of one or more wrapper ads"
http://www.iab.net/media/file/VASTv3.0.pdf (page 56).
Does IMA3 SDK supports this?
I have tested an empty VAST ad tag and am not seeing the error URL being sent.
The adTag i'm using looks like this(The actual URI is in my VAST is real, this is just for example) :
<VAST version="3.0">
</VAST>

We are using VAST 4.0 and per the documentation:
https://iabtechlab.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/VAST4.0_Updated_April_2016.pdf
(Please see 3.2.1)
We would expect a response similar to the one below to call the Error URL:
<VAST version="4.0">
<Error> <![CDATA[http://adserver.com/noad.gif]>
</Error>
</VAST>
Is there a reason this is not currently supported and is there any plans to support it in the future?
Thanks,
GarethHello Gareth and Tobias,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
I'm afraid that VAST 3.0 and 4.0 are still not yet fully supported in IMA SDK as you can see here in this documentation of support and compatibility. Rest assured that once more information comes up with regards to support for this, it will be publicly announced for everyone to know. You may want to keep an eye on our blog for future updates.
