IMA sample streams - VOD issues

Hey Google IMA SDK team,

We've been working on an implementation of the Google IMA SDK (iOS & Android), while using the IMA sample streams to confirm our implementation and impressions/tracking events, etc.

We're running into an issue where both 'Tears of Steel' HLS VOD streams (`tears-of-steel` & `tears-of-steel-omid` stops playing at the 1min10s.

It looks like it's unable to find the following chunks (as an example):

1. https://daimidrolls-a.akamaihd.net/truman-netstorage/2951376276/ae607d33/tent/tears-of-steel/unencrypted/VOD_2500/playlist-00007-A.ts
2. https://daimidrolls-a.akamaihd.net/truman-netstorage/2951376276/ae607d33/tent/tears-of-steel/unencrypted/VOD_2500/playlist-00007-B.ts

This issue is also reproducible on the DAI SDK for HTML5 Video Suite Inspector.

I understand this isn't exactly an issue with the SDK itself, but would appreciate any help or pointing me to the correct team, if needed.

I've checked DAI SDK for HTML5 Video Suite Inspector with  IMA sample streams  but could not replicate mentioned issue.
I don't see any chunks issue and it's playing continuously.
Is there any use case to test this ? Could you provide more detail or Screen Recording video replicating issue ?

I'm still able to reproduce this on my side using the DAI SDK for HTML5 Video Suite Inspector, specifically using the HLS sample streams (DASH works as expected).

Repro steps from my side (screen recording uploaded to provided link/form):

1.     Open https://googleads.github.io/googleads-ima-html5-dai/vsi/
2. Click the VOD "Sample" link (prefills Tears of Steel sample)
3. Load stream.
4. Play stream.
5. At 1min 10s the video pauses and shows the loading indicator.

Other info and approaches tried:

• I'm able to reproduce the same behavior on iOS & tvOS simulators + devices, using the SDK.
• The issue is reproducible for me on home, office and mobile networks.
• The issue is reproducible for me both with a VPN to New York and without (Canada).
• My screen recording is missing sound (mistake from my side), but everything works as expected up until the sample stream pauses (both audio and video stops at this point).

For me, the streams plays until the end of chunk playlist-00006.ts (and I'm able to download the chunk through the browser), but fails to grab the next chunk in the manifest playlist-00007-A.ts (which I'm also unable to download through the browser).

Happy to provide any other info that might help, but unsure what would be useful.

Thank you for providing the repro steps.

Yes, As you mentioned I’m able to replicate the video pause issue in the VSI tool for both stream content of HLS, but not for DASH. Having said that I’ll raise this concern to my team members and keep you posted on the same once I get an update. Meanwhile, your patience is appreciated.

Has there been any progress on this? We had a previously working implementation but it began failing around the same time this ticket was opened.

I've attached a m3u8 file that our implementation receives and AVPlayer reports a failure:
