Tapping into Ad-Exchange Demand without IMA

It mentions that the AdX ads cannot be monetized without IMA SDK.

In the same page it mentions, that we can make use of VAST response to render the ads manually without using IMA SDK.

Our requirement is that we need custom control over ad playback, along with custom UI. We support VAST responses and Open Measurement.For any ad tag for which we have enabled AdX ads on Google Ad Manager, we are making a request to that ad tag url and the VAST response is coming in fine. (We're also setting correlator and scor values before making the request).The returned AdSystem inside VAST response is sometimes GDFP or AdSense, etc.I would like to know if this a right approach to monetize AdX ads, if we don't want to use IMA SDK for its limitations.
