black screen on web ima sdk HTML5

Hello team,

we are currently facing an issue with our HTML5 implementation with the latest IMA SDK version. We do get a black screen for a few seconds when the ads is supposed to start, after that the content plays back normally but the ads is skipped. 

We are able to reproduce the issue systematically when we do empty the cache and perform a hard page reload on Chrome browser. No errors are logged in the AdServer or in the browser. I am available to give you more details about our implementation if needed.

we found out that in the response we get the error 402 (videoplayfailed402) after the default 8s timeout is reached. We get this error only the first time when we 

perform  an empty cache and hard reload (this scenario reproduce the use case when a new user loads the page for the first time). We are currently using React in our implementation.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We would first start by asking if you have been able to test it out on one of our samples ? And fi so have you seen that same issue? If you have seen the same issue can you send to us the sample that you created that displays this. Along with any steps that show the issue. If everything works on our sample, then can you share with us via the "Reply to author" button. A link to the app in question, again with any steps to reproduce the issue.

Hello,

thank your for your prompt response. There is no sample app for a React based implementation so we just followed the standard implementation described in the official documentation for IMA SDK for HTML5 at https://developers.google.com/interactive-media-ads/docs/sdks/html5/client-side. We face the issue in our application in production but unfortunately the access is geographically restricted. I can share perhaps our ads.js implementation if that can help?

Thank you for responding back with additional information. In reading over your statement, I see that you are using React to build your app. We are only able to offer suggestions based on the HTML5 implementation part of what you are doing. But we would then suggest reaching out to React forums to see if others have seen this and might have solutions to offer.
