Hi All,

We have a requirement where if user clicks in a LearnMore link in Ad, we have to handle the click action and redirect to a app screen instead of opening the browser.
We do not want the browser to open when user clicks on the link. The user journey should be seemless and the app just has to redirect to the linked page without showing any splash screen (unlike push notification behavior)

Is this possible to implement with IMA SDK in Android/iOS/Web?

Any pointers will be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out to us. If you are referring to Clickthrough configuration, then I'm afraid this is not possible, as the Clickthrough refers to the process in which a user will be redirected to the advertiser's landing page after clicking on a particular ad. For mobile IMA SDK platforms (iOS and Android) there are two options for opening an ad's landing page. It's either by the in-app browser or via mobile browser.

Hi,

One more question on the same use-case.

In case of action handled by in-app browser, we assume that the clickthrough link with have a different url pattern than what is configured when url is open in external browser. Is our understanding correct?

Also, for in-app browser, will the app first get the control first before opening the in-app browser?

Thanks.

Hi there,

Thank you for your response.

The Clickthrough link pattern for both in-app browser and the external browser would be the same, no need to assign a different URL for each type of browsers.

To learn more about how the SDK works when listening to clickthrough event and opening an in-app browser, please check out this Clickthrough documentation for more information.

Let me know if you have further questions.
