Hello,
According to the lifecycle chart , the CONTENT_PAUSE_REQUESTED event should be fired after the LOADED event, followed by the playback events.

However, we've noticed a behavior of the event order being different in linear fullslot image ads, with STARTED event being fired first.
This can also be observed in the ima-html5 video suite inspector, by attaching logpoints to the event handlers inside ima3_debug.js:

Could you please clarify whether this is the intended behavior ?

Thanks,

Hi Sivan,

Thank you for reaching out to us. In looking over the lifecycle chart that you showed,. I would agree with what you said regarding the order of the events taking place. Also from the screenshot that you have sent me, it would look like these events are taking place in the order that you mentioned, loaded > started > content pause. if there is something else that I am not seeing, please let me know. But it would appear to be correct.

Hi William,
Thanks for replying.
So do I understand correctly that this is not the intended behavior of the SDK ?

Thanks,

Hi Sivan,

I work along with William.

I do not see the same scenario in the test sample of the VSI you shared. Specifically, I do not see the log event for CONTENT_PAUSE_REQUESTED, thus I cannot validate the order of the logs you are reporting.

On the other hand, I tried replicating the behavior using our simple sample app and I wasn't able to reproduce the issue as the logs was thrown in order according to our document guide (LOADED > CONTENT_PAUSE_REQUESTED > STARTED).

Would you please send to us again a sample project implementation where we could replicate the same behavior? A screen recording of the issue would be a lot of help in our investigation.

Hi,
I shared in a private message a sample app which loads a linear fullslot image ad, with logs to track the event order.

Thanks,
Sivan Agranov

Hi Sivan,

It seems you have not received my last response so I am reposting it here:

I downloaded the sample app you have shared and played the content but couldn't see the logs you mentioned you have added.

On the other hand, as I have previously mentioned, your scenario seems to be happening on your own sample app only as this is not reproducible using our simple sample app from my own testing. Thus, this would make us think that this is something with implementation issue. We would recommend to check our sample apps and use it as reference in making your own. You may also check our Get Started guide for creating a basic sample app that is integrated with the SDK.

Hi Michael,
The app I provided prints out console.debug of the three events.
Please let me know if you still don't see them and I can re-share the sample app again and/or use console.log instead.

The app is cloned from your sample app, the key difference is that the sample app loads a linear video ad and my app loads a linear image ad.
The issue seems to happen with linear image ads only and works fine in linear video ads.

Thanks,
Sivan Agranov
