Thanks

I use emacs org-beamer-mode for creating beamer presentations, it is
cool and easy. Obviously at the end you may have to make some changes
to the Tex file, not in every case.

So essentially all I do is write plain text(not any big code) files
using org-beamer-mode and compile a tex file :).

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions.

I have used the first one - \\ funder - DST to the institution line. What command do I use so that there is a line space between the institution name and the Funder name ?

Hai Asha & every body interested in beamer class
Beamer is an effective presentation tool, you can exploit it to an unlimited extend. no other presentation tool has this much control over text and especially on equations. There are lots of themes, that you can create a good appearance on your presentation, even you can include multimedia and animations also. I am using Texmaker for preparing beamer presentation you can use Kile also. In Texmaker spell check is not enabled by default you can configure the editor by setting the path of spelling dictionary. I am attaching a screen shot of configure window , you can enable spell check from that picture. in fact I am using ubuntu 9.10. I am also attaching  a presentation that i have prepared. The tex file and figures are also included.
                                                                                     best regards
