Hello ilug-b,

I have a Canon LBP2900B laser printer and despite my best efforts, I
have been unable to make it work with 64-bit Ubuntu 13.10 and 14.04. The
general feeling seems to be that this printer and it's binary drivers
were never good on Linux to begin with. I have to run a windows VM on
my box, just so that I can print documents. ( the windows drivers work
just fine) - but this is a sub-optimal solution - running an OS just so
that you can print a page sounds crazy in 2014

I want to buy a device under 10k INR, which can do scanning, printing
and copying and 'works well' with linux.

Do you own/use such a device? Which one would you recommend?

Thanks in advance!

HP Deskjet 1050 j410 Series works well with Fedora 64 bit (both printer and scanner in the device work w/ Fedora). Been using it for over an year now. Should be easy to use with ubuntu as well I guess.
