Problem:
Router behin says default username: admin password: password
I tried to reset. Not sure if it did or not. I connected a lan cable
to it hoping to get an IP so that I could log in into the router and
explore. But it does not provide any IP.
This router takes a telephone Line-In. Is this device something I can
make use of ? Or is it useless otherwise?

Try manually assigning an IP to your eth0 interface and try connecting to the
router. The router will most likely have an address of 192.168.0.1 or
192.168.1.1 so assign something from the same /24 subnet and you should be
able ping the router.

You can use it for what you want to do.

I couldn't find much. The router does have 4 modes: Static, DHCP, PPPoE,
and Bridge. I selected Bridge mode but I don't see any changes in other
pages where I could set some configuration for it to bridge with my
other wireless router.
Do you have any suggestions ?

Those options are for the DSL part of the router. You can connect your phone
line into the router and go with PPPoE and enter your ISP username/password
into it.
If you already have a DSL router you are only going to be using the ethernet
switch part of this device. So just plug everything(DSL router + wifi-router
+ other devices) into the ethernet ports and everything should work.

So in this case, it'd have the telephone line as its Line-In (which I
can't connect as I am already using a separate modem). So how do I make
use of it as a Wifi router only and bridge it to my other (Linksys) wifi
router ? Doable ? Can I put a community firmware on top of it ?
Thanks for your help.
This is what I was looking for (and I'm sure this is what you were
referring to).

I had used a new essid instead on the current router's essid. I'll try
it today. Hopefully it works.
I guess I have to see if I can switch the routers instead. Then maybe I
can use my Linksys router to bridge with this one.
hi ritesh,
I have one D-Link router connected to internet and one Binatone router on which I want to install DD-WRT. But I am unable to locate Binatone in the List of supported routers.Which version you installed on the binatone router?
