Thanks you for posting this content. Appreciate it so much.

I purchased an Groove Agent Expnasion and for the life of me was not able to see it in GE. Now I'm a software engineer and know my way around installations and quirks, but still I was unabe to get it to work.

I was finally able to do it after following your article. I needed to have latest version of GE (minor update).

But this is nuts, something like a music library should not be this difficult to install and use no matter the risk of piracy. Steinberg really need to work on their installations.

I am running Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6 on a Macbook Pro 2017. The issue is that while LPX (10.5.1) can "see" Padshop using the plugin manager, Padshop 2 is not available as drop down menu item in LPX. I have other Steinberg products installed (e.g Absolute 3 collection) and they all work just fine.

3. LPX can "see" Padshop using the plugin manager (it shows as simply "Padshop" 2.0.10 which I think is the latest Padshop 2 version. The plugin manager has reset and scanned the plugin and appears to have successfully validated it.

6. Might it be the location of where Steinberg's library manager and download assistant has placed the content that is the issue? I am not that au fait with the different libraries Apple has and fiddling about in different application support folders etc never seems advisable unless you have clear instructions.

I think the answer might lie in the AU validation. LPX plugin manager says that it has "successfully validated" Padshop 2 (it has a tick next to Padshop 2), but I had not spotted something that happens; When you press reset and rescan selection, a new window opens. It validated the Padshop AU but then at the very bottom it has a line I ignored saying "updating properties of Padshop by Steinberg", followed by 3 little dots.

I am on Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6. The rest of my Steinberg plugins such as Halion etc all work just fine and are visible within LPX. It may well be a Steeiberg bug, but the entire experience and lack of speed in getting any kind of coherent response from steinberg has put me off. I am going to stick to Unify, Omnisphere and the recently discovered delights of Roland cCoud (while trying to keep CPU usage manageable).

You can Move libraries by clicking on the Move button. A good strategy is having "Sample Library Content" and "Sample Library Content 2" on different disks and spread the libraries to different folders. You can always see where the library is by clicking "Details".

In February, we released the new generation of HALion products, including HALion 7 with its amazing new sound design workflows, FM synthesis module, new Spectral Zone, and much more. With the release of the HALion 7 generation, the free HALion Sonic SE instrument that Dorico has always used for playing back its included sound library has been retired, and replaced with the new HALion Sonic 7 instrument. HALion Sonic 7 is now what is offered for download when you download Dorico 4.
