DESCRIPTION
The Corporate Counsel position in India will predominantly support all legal and compliance work for our offices in Hyderabad and Jaipur. This position will report to the Office of the General Counsel and will closely work with Counsels in the US, Canada and Australia.Responsibilities- Drive internal legal initiatives covering topics that govern Human Resource policies, employee benefits plans, draft and negotiate employment agreements.
- Draft, review, and implement Reserved Stock Units (RSU) plan, Stock and/or equity ownership policies and maintain compliance of such programs with relevant statutory authorities
- Draft and review SaaS, PaaS Agreement, Draft subscription Agreements, Revenue share model agreements
- Support day-to-day business contracts from officies across the worls. Support the legal team in the US on contract negotiations and compliance on active projects.
- Draft professional services agreements, Master Service Agreements, teaming Agreements with global enterprises and partners, and other commercial agreements as needed to protect the company's interest
- Establish and enhance internal corporate legal policies and compliance programs including creation of company agreements, forms and legal playbooks to streamline processes
- Communicate with other officies to effectively maintain cadence.
- Co-ordinate efforts with outside counsel whenever needed
- Build a high performing in-house global Legal department and develop legal policies to protect and promote the company
About You- 5-8 years of experience including an in house corporate legal department role and/or law firm.
- Exceptional judgment: balancing risk with business priorities
- Start-up mindset: independent, self-motivated individual with great work ethic and a perspective of helping out wherever and however needed
- Ability to communicate effectively within the organization with business unit located outside India.
- Focus on the bigger picture: results-oriented, rather than task-oriented. High integrity and ethical standards
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) across all levels of the organization with a positive, service-oriented attitude
- Strong academic background a LL.B from highly-regarded school. LL.M from a University in the US a plus but not required
- This position may require relocation to Hyderabad.
