Serialization and ILProtector

Hello,

can I use ILProtector if I want to serialize data in my application? I mean, I want the application to be able to read data that was serialized in previous versions of the application. I have also found that your website is dangerous according to McAfee (http://ilprotector.software.informer.com/1.0/).
