I just got the verbal ok from my Managing Partner for sponsorship from Aird & Berlis. I had submitted a proposal asking that they be the lead sponsor but Scotia beat us to it!
So as a result, I had to go back and tell them that the next sponsorship category was available only and that is what they have agreed to: Platinum - $3000.
Since we have been quite successful in obtaining corporate (firm) sponsorship, why don’t we consider donating, on behalf of the corporate donors, a few tickets to those members who might not otherwise be able to afford to buy the ticket. I know, for example, that David Farmani has asked that I donate the ticket that comes with his sponsorship package to a student and he has left it to me to select that student. I think it would be great if the law firms who have sponsored this event can offer 1 or 2 or however many tickets to students…we could do it on a first come, first serve basis. This is just an idea to think about. It doesn’t get us ticket sales per se but it gets bodies out and it generates goodwill.
