* Written by an early generation tzaddik (preceeded R' Shimon bar Yochai and Sefer Hakaneh, which would place him in the era of the Tanaim)
Another shitah written by the Chidah- it was authored by R' Chammai Gaon, from the era of the Geonim.
Third shitah- it was authored by Rabeinu Avraham Merimon of Spain, a member of Ramban's beit midrash
