So here is the deal. I don't know Visual C++ @ all, but I decided to
study the source of RaveSetup and see if I could mod it to work with my
new iLO 1Gb MP3 player (orange). I was sucessful, so I want to share my
results with the community. My attempts to contact the author have
resulted in no response, therefore I release my work here. Do remember,
I don't actually know the language this program was written in, so
there may be bugs - but it seems to work fine on my player at the
moment. I have included the new EXE file and copies of the source files
that were altered. You should also make note that enough functions were
changed in the new firmware, that with my limited knowledge of the
source language, I did NOT try and maintain compatibility with the iLO
256. So this release only works with the iLO 1GB units. As well, it
will only work if your firmware is version 1.117. If someone can get me
the firmware update files for v1.117, then I will downgrade my player
to version 1.116 and add support for it too. Otherwise, you will have
to edit the source and then recompile it yourself to test on other
firmware versions. As I wanted to keep the download small, you still
need to go to the author's site
(http://www.xmission.com/~jstanley/ilo256/) to get the installer. Then
once the installer has properly run, just replace the EXE file, and
drop the edited 'source' files into the 'src' subfolder within the
installed program's folder to have it all working. Also, don't forget
to make a backup of the original EXE if you still need iLO 256 support
from the program.
