Dear Sir or Madam:
Thank you for emailing Siren Audio Support. I would like to apologize
to you for any frustration or confusion our product may have caused. I
hope to resolve your problems. The incorrect format error can be
generated when the device endures a fall, the batteries run down while
a song is playing, the unit is exposed to heat, or a corrupt music file
is transferred to the device.
To Format your player follow the following steps:
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR ILO IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE COMPUTER BEFORE
BEGINNING!
1. Open up your My Computer Icon to show your drives installed on
your computer and take note which ones are installed. Leave this window
open.
2. Connect your ILO device and wait for the two additional
"removable disk drive"(s) to appear in your My Computer window (ex:
removable disk drive [E:], removable disk drive [F:])
3. Right click the first drive that appears (ex: [e:] if the
removable drives show as [e:] and [f:]) and select format
4. Click "start" on the format window
5. Disregard the warning notice that pops up
6. Once that is complete retransfer all of your music and then
your device should function properly.
There are a select few mp3 players that are having a few issues with
the internal flash memory and will not allow windows to format it. The
only solution to these units is to reinstall the firmware into the
player itself. To reinstall the firmware, please search your email
folders for the email I have sent you titled "ILO 116 Firmware".
Sometimes, your email security settings will move this email to your
junk mailbox. Once you open the file, read the instructions and click
on the attachments link to open the software.
If you have any more questions, or need any further assistance, please
contact Siren Audio.
Regards-
