Ilike the card really much and most times the compact mode is what I like. However in one place I want it a little bigger and thankfully there are options for this, too, and most I want I could achieve.

I do have a strange behavior with mini-media-player since a few weeks

Every time when I open home assistant on my phone or even on my computer it takes a while till mini-media-player is loaded. First it shows me that the custom component cannot be found. but after a few moments it is loaded (see attached gif)

I think that even with a background image set, the card returns to its default mini size when the player is powered off or the queue is empty. This makes it smaller than when artwork is set to full-cover and the player is on.

To keep the card a consistent size, I 've found I have to play around with card-mod to set the height of the card. You might need to experiment to find the right height - this value keeps the player square in the app on my Pixel 4.

For whatever reason, without card_mod, the card always collapses when there is no cover art to what I showed here using either full-cover or full-cover-fit, and with the image sized to 385x385, 640x640 or 1600x1600.

Currently, if there is no cover art available or when the target payer is idle, the card will collapse from the 1:1 ratio of cover art to the minimum size needed to fit any configured control and information elements of the card. For better control over the position of cards on a dashboard, it can be desireable to maintain the same size and shape of the card

I am trying to change the volume of what ever media player that my input select is set to. I have chosen to hid all the controls for the card and decided create stand alone controls. I have create a input_number for the volume slider

cover to display current artwork in the card background, full-cover to display full artwork, material for alternate artwork display with dynamic colors, none to hide artwork, full-cover-fit for full cover without cropping.

Hey Kalkih, I am trying to create a skip back and skip forward for my media players and came across your efforts to make something similar. I have tried to test it out in templates " state_attr(media_player.sonos_connect, 'media_position') "but am only getting thisUndefinedError: 'media_player' is undefine. Is this still the best approach? What am I missing?

You should be able to do this with a Universal Media Player by mapping the turn_on / turn_off services & possibly the state attribute to the switch. Then use this universal media player as the card entity.

Not sure about the artwork though, you could probably use card-mod and with templating extract the entity_picture attribute and use that as the background for the card (vertical-stack-in-card) wrapping the mini-media-player cards.

This picture is not a photoshop product. It is working and it is done, in fact by multiple mini-media-players. The biggest issue for me is the dynamic background picture. But thanks for the idea/direction.

I'm currently controlling it using Air Mouse with my iOS devices, but I'd really like to be able to use it more simply. Air Mouse simply extends the mouse and keyboard, but doesn't really give you a remote-control style of functionality you might have with a dedicated streaming device like the Apple TV.

Use Plex as your remote-control-friendly home theatre hub. I find Plex to be much easier to set up than XBMC, but where I think Plex really shines is in how easy it is to share your mini's media with other devices.

HippoRemote is a remote control app with better integration with various media players than Mobile Mouse (formerly Air Mouse) and Plex Mobile. Plex Mobile only works with Plex, Mobile Mouse works with most things except Plex. HippoRemote works with Plex, Hulu Desktop, and just about everything else, and it even works with the Netflix player.

I actually don't have one of these yet, but I know several people that love Logitech's Harmony remotes. If want a remote that will also control your TV and receiver, these would definitely be worth checking out.

Plex is probably the most Mac-like of all the media centers out there. Certainly it gets a lot of attention on the Mac and runs very well there. Not quite as open or feature rich as XMBC but it plays a quick game of catchup.

With Plex installed and running you can access all your media, navigate on a TV-friendly UI using your Apple Remote and use plugins like their Netflix plugin to access streaming content all from one slick interface.

The hight contrast (white on black) and large font size allows it to recognize the content better than in other media centers. Background / foreground color and font size (aka how many entries are shown) can be setup in the preferences.

For DVDs a preview will be searched automatically - thru "Movie Info" a preview and description can be set for DVDs and videos / movies. The "Movie Info" also allows it to save all movie informations as HTML page to share these informations with your friends.

Supported media: pictures, videos / movies, PDFs, DVDs, EyeTV movies.By installing the QuickTime extension "Perian", all common video formats are playable (AVI, DivX, MKV etc.).Protected iTunes media (DRM) will be started in iTunes, EyeTV movies in EyeTV or VLC (if EyeTV is not available).

With "NV Remote App" and the iTunes control of the media center, the music can be controlled within the local WLAN. In landscape mode the app will show the current selection - very helpful if one is sitting e.g. in the kitchen and want to change the playlist.

As of a couple weeks ago, my Google Nest Mini Second Generation media audio has been playing very quietly (I use YouTube Music on my Mini). 50% audio started sounding like it was barely at 40% audio, now 60% audio sounds like it's playing at 50% audio, and it keeps getting worse. The assistant volume is perfectly fine, it's only media audio that has the problem.

I'm sorry to hear that you're also experiencing the same concern. Have you already tried the steps provided above? Also don't forget to check the link for more information and do a sequential reboot too:

Thank you for confirming that it's only happening on YouTube Music using your second Nest Mini. Even after having a new one, the issue still persists. By the way, what other music platforms have you tried? We might need to have a look onto YouTube Music to further isolate your concern.

Next steps would be to unlink your account from the Google Home app and YouTube Music. Uninstal and reinstall the YouTube Music app and relink your account. Check out the steps below for extra help about linking music services to the Google Home app:

@watchadam, thank you for confirming that Spotify and Tidal have a louder volume than YouTube Music on your Nest Audio. Since your Nest Audio relies heavily on these applications and services for the function, I suggest you go to its settings and see if there are options to increase the volume of music being played. Also, the volume of each music depends on the song that you're playing and on what kind of format it may have used when uploaded. It would also be of big help if you can reach out to YouTube Music support for more information on the matter.

If the issue persists, we can revert your Nest Audio back to its default and original settings. You need to set it back up again and start fresh. To factory reset your Nest Audio, follow the steps below:

Chiming in, currently there's no option to change the Assistant's voice on the Google Home/Nest speakers or display. We're always looking for ways to improve -- we'll take this as feedback, and we'll gladly pass it along to the team. You can also send feedback using your device by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback." Visit this link for more steps.

Iteration 2 involved the final circuitry and parts on a breadboard. The switches are Cherry MX Blue, and the rotary encoder for this iteration has an RGB LED built in. SparkFun sells breakout boards to make these parts breadboardable. Besides the media controls, holding the play/pause button and turning the rotary encoder adjusts the brightness of the key backlights.

Adafruit has a great tutorial for a similar project. It also covers designing and 3D-printing custom keycaps (mine are clear keycaps that SparkFun sells) and creating a 3D-printed case for the board and switches (mine simply sits on 4 nylon standoffs).

But who would be her villains? We live in a changing world and the way that world is reported to us is changing more so. It would be nice to see Lois Lane tackling the challenges to her journalistic integrity against things like phone hacking, the influences of native advertising as well as the rise of online media destroying the traditional print media. And this would be against the backdrop of a science fiction and fantasy superhero universe. Science fiction and superhero fiction have always been comfortable analogies for real world problems. Lois Lane can totally get her comic book flak jacket on in the middle of that.

This is a mini media converter that converts a 10/100/1000Base-TX(RJ-45) to 1000Base-X via an Open SFP Port. The Open SFP Port allows users to customize between the SX, LX, or BX connections. This media converter provides a cost effective conversion from 10/100/1000Base-TX(RJ-45) to 1000Base-X, while extending the network reach beyond the 100m reach limitation of copper and saving space (3.75" x 2.25" x 1"). Our media converters are 100% compliant for all of our networking needs. Now you have a cost effective solution to your network upgrade needs.

To provide sufficient storage for photos, music, videos, and more, we added an 8TB OWC miniStack. This external drive works great with any Mac mini! It matches the looks of the mini and sits directly underneath the computer.

Click the + Your Media button, then the Get Plex Media Server button. Doing so launches Safari and a download page for the app. As before, drag the downloaded app to the Applications folder. Now launch Plex Media Server. Log in using your Plex account, and then read the short explanation of what the app does:
