Hello Everyone,
Here is information regarding an opportunity to RUN FROM THE COPS. They are wanting to engage more with the students and have come up with the following idea:
Run From the Cops Late Night 5K Run
WHEN: April 10, 2014
8:30 PM- Onsite registration at the Illini Union patio (all participants must sign a release waiver to participate)
10:00 PM- Run Begins
WHERE: University of Illinois
Registration and run begin at the Illini Union then through the main quad to the south quad.
COST: Registration fee for ‘Suspects’ is $20.00. If you register by 8AM on April 6, 2014 you will be guaranteed to receive a t-shirt.
We will hit the roads during the late night hours- and EVERYONE is a Suspect!
Join your campus/local law enforcement and be the very first supporters of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois’ late night Run From the Cops 5K!!
The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) is a partnership between local police and Special Olympics that focuses on raising much needed funds and awareness for people with intellectual disabilities. For the first time ever, members of the Torch Run Illinois community are organizing a late night 5K Fun Run!
HOW IT WORKS:
Suspects start stretching and don your best burglar/suspect costume! Yes, the race will begin at 10:00 PM and yes, there will be coffee, donuts, and snacks! Do you have what it takes to Run From the Cops?
REGISTRATION:
Website under construction. Once registered, ‘Suspects’ can also accept donations right on their webpage and use it to spread the news to their friends and family about how they can also Run From the Cops by participating in this new late night 5K!
FUNDRAISE:
The LETR program is Special Olympics Illinois biggest year-round fundraising partnership and we need your help making it bigger to reach more athletes throughout the state!

*You must be a minimum of 16 years old to participate.
** Reflective clothing is suggested.
*** No refunds will be issued if the event is cancelled.
