Reopening
update:
Thanks for being patient as we work to bring "live" bridge back to the club. Two weeks ago, we had to again suspend games after positive virus tests from two players. We're happy to report that both players and their friends and families are fine.
We believe that any potential danger is past. The Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday games will reopen beginning this Tuesday, October 19. The Monday-evening games will resume later this fall.
October is ACBL's Club Appreciation Month and all the games will be hosting club championships during the first week. The next week, October 25-31, is District 8's annual Sectional at Clubs. All sessions that week will offer silver points.

American Pairs - Sunday, November 14
The District 8 finals of this event are online on Bridgebase.com. If you qualified in a club game this summer, you're eligible to play and compete for trips to the national finals in Reno NV in March.
Separate events will be held in three flights: A (2500+); B (0-2500) and C (Non-Life Master, 0-500 pts.).
You need to register in advance and pay the entry fee ($20 per person for two sessions) to Martha Leary. Full details are here:

Bob Sievers and Aaron O'Banion, who were successful at the "real-life" sectional in Collinsville IL on October 1-3. Aaron won 2.5 silver points and Bob won the Southern Illinois Unit's Harrison Trophy for placing first in the Saturday Open Pairs.
Swiss Teams this Friday
Our online club -- http://virtual.illinibridge.com -- is hosting its monthly Swiss Teams this Friday, October 22 -- 6:30 pm for 499ers, 6:50 pm for the Open game. It has a Club Appreciation Game rating, with double masterpoints (half red, half black).
