Dear Harish ji and All Friends:
Happy 2009...lets hope this year produces better results than all of the last quarter century here in Gurgaon!
Your letter to the Ex Engineer Shri Preet Mohan Singh is both exhaustive & full of evaded replies. I wonder how many are there in Haryana who will make an honest and a proper reply to all such queries. Experience and a fair intention to respond does not come easily in the Indian official scene. And that is true when they are dealing with the courts, not just Gandhian residents like us!
I will look forward to what comes forth in the course of this month. I say this because w/o any proof with me I can say, the system here will not be able to provide the kind of information sought from ANY garbage dump wherever in Haryana in any town or district, for sure.
I could of course be wrong.
The attitude here among all Supervisros remains, "sab chalta hai".
Garbage, sewerage and sanitation do not get much attention from the senior most or the junior most in our systems of governance, I am afraid.
Cultural practices and 'picked up' habits take generations to get rid of and perhaps start changing IF the Supervisors demand the same.
Otherwise less said the better...
