Dear iLINCS Team,
My name is Cameron Noval and I'm currently a first year pharmacy student at the Univesity of Pittsburgh. I’m currently exploring the use of the iLINCS API to retrieve gene expression signatures for small molecules. In particular, I’m trying to programmatically access L1000 perturbagen signatures based on compound names or IDs (e.g., “metformin”), and access their z scores for the specific landmark genes.
I noticed that the documented endpoints such as:
GET /signature/findByPerturbagenName GET /signature/search
are returning 404 errors—for example:
Could you please clarify:
  1. Whether those endpoints are deprecated or if there's a new/recommended endpoint for retrieving signatures for specific perturbagens?
  2. If there is a preferred way to retrieve all available L1000 signature IDs or their associated gene-level data?
I’d appreciate any pointers or updated documentation that could help. Thanks so much for your time and for maintaining access to this valuable resource.
Best,
Cameron Noval

Hi Cameron,

I'm curious where did you see the documentation for the endpoints you mentioned (e.g. /signature/findByPerturbagenName). I don't see them listed in our API documentation (https://www.ilincs.org/ilincs/APIdocumentation

Thank you,
Michal
