The free Xerox Global Print Driver manages Xerox and non-Xerox printers on your network with a single, easy-to-use interface. It dramatically simplifies enterprise printer management for IT managers, making it easy to add and update printers without changing drivers.
There really is nothing more annoying than a company that immediately discards old drivers because they think the new driver is going to work for all systems. On a fresh install of windows 10, the du.dll error pops up. I presume you haven't done a full windows update yet?
Please take a look at this article for install windows drivers, If you are still having issues after trying these steps, I suggest that you call into our support department for assistance @ 1-800-821-2797 or 1-800-835-6100.
I did install the scan driver "Windows USB Scan Driver, from Xerox's driver website, and get the scan feature working for my Xerox WorkCentre 6605 Multifunction Printer. But, instead replacing the Xerox Global Print Driver PS, under Devices and Printers, selecting the Printer (Xerox WorkCentre 6605), and under Advanced, clicking New Driver. I went to Device Manager/Imaging Devices, righ-clicked on the Printer, Xerox WC 6605 (WUA-USB), Browsed to the location of the downloaded scan driver and installed the scan driver that way. I also then went to Start on the desktop, All Programs, Xerox Office Printing, clicked on Xerox WorkCentre 6605, clicked the Express Scan Manager and set the folder for where scans go.
Install optional drivers for your printer manually in Windows 11 Select Start > Settings > Windows Update. Select Check for updates at the top of the page. Windows Update might find an updated version of your printer driver. To use it: Select Start , then select Settings > Windows Update. .Select Check for updates
I'm going to agree with CathyO that the device was launched a long time ago and we don't have a W11 only driver, however, if you go the the Drivers and Downloads for the device, and filter on W11, it does show we have a compatabile driver, Drivers & Downloads - WorkCentre 6015 - Windows 11 - Xerox.
While I don't have a 6015 , I was able to install the driver on W11 and it appears to work.
I suggest you uninstall the printer you have, download the driver from the link above and try installing again. Unfortunately, if this does not work, there's not much we can help with on the forums, so you would need to reach out to support.
I have facing much familiar thing with me I have windows 10 but I am unable to download proper driver I couldn't even install successfully still waiting and search drivers which is comptiable with my windows 10 bit 64.
I see no one has responded. I unfortunately don't really know of a driver option other than what we have on our website. You can try this Chrome Print Solution article that mentions two ways to print to see if there is any chance that may work for you. Otherwise you would need to speak to someone in Support: 1-800-821-2797
I have located some Xerox ARM Universal Print Drivers (specifically AltaLink B8145/B8155/B8170 Multifunction Printer ARM drivers), but even after installing those, (the installation has passed without any errors) I can't seem to print anything, as it simply tosses the test page into the print queue and it disappears just as quickly as it entered the queue (with no document ever going to the spooler I'm guessing, as the printer doesn't even wake up from sleep mode when I try printing a test page.)
Also, even if it did end up printing with this ARM driver that I've found, I would still have to find a way to install the scanner as it is a multifunctional printer and I highly doubt the scanner would simply get recognized with the proper driver (if the proper driver even exists.)
You will not lose capabilities by moving from a traditional driver to the Global Print Driver. We offer 100% feature and design parity between the Xerox Global Print Driver and traditional Xerox drivers for most Xerox products.
After completing the steps above, connect to cups interface (localhost:631),; you'll find two printers, one is the xerox printer and the other printer may appear as "bad ppd". Just update it, and change to a "raw printer" (also check if the connection is ok)
I had exactly the same problem, and finally I managed to solve it, using the xerox driver that gives you some extra functionality: ppd itslef claims to support stapling, but the printer ignores the settings.
I manage to get in working today. "changing the CRLF to LF " is only a warning when parsing the ppd. The error was at the ppd: The line "*CloseGroup: PaperOutput" shoud be moved before the line "*OpenGroup: PrintQuality/Print Quality/Color". This is what the error is reporting. I'm thinkig that this kind bug repors will growing because of the new CUPS 2.2.x version. With Fedora 24 and XeroxPrtDrv there was no problems. Every Linux Distribution shiping with the new CUPS will be problematic for the Xerox customers. Please Xerox, kindly asking for testing and upgrade the linux drivers due to that. Thank you very much.
I'm using WorkCentre 6605DN at the office wiht my PC with installed Fedora Linux 25. I installed xeroxprtdrv 5.20.558.3113 and launched xeroxprtmgr us root. The Wizard found the printer but "Internal error, check the log" message appeared. I checked the logs and i found:
I have been using WC 5745 from a print server- Win server 08 R2, the WC printer was installed with PS drivers, and it has been working ok for the last one year. last week, the printer on the server sudenly went ofline, I tried to re install but the printer goes offline again a few minutes after re installation. nobody within the LAN can print. I reinstalled the printer with PCL6 drivers, and it works.
Even if more risky... I have experienced with large production environments that the hard work are on recreating print queues. Therefore you are alwsy presented with the option to just change the driver the print queue is using to another driver (even if this leaves you with basic functionalities only) in order to be able to delete drivers without deleting print queues.
I must advise that I have had situations where the problem is on the print queue and those also had to be removed. Unfortunately, in my opinion XML error can be associated with print queues and drivers.
this part is extremely unreasonable "Make sure you do not have any other driver (even of different PDLs < PCL/PS> for the same model)"
do you realize how many printers would be taken offline if i was forced to do this in a production environment...that's all great and dandy for a dev environment but as soon as the same thing happens in production forget it.
After running the "sh" file that you download from the xerox website, it looks like nothing has happened, but a new ppd file will be in etc/cups/ppd folder. Choose that ppd file when installing the printer.
The Xerox product compatibility document lists various Xerox Office and Light Production products regarding the Xerox Driver compatibility and availability. The table refers to a compatibility level for each product. It will be updated periodically as Xerox releases new macOS Ventura-compatible device drivers.
On macOS 13 Ventura, Apple has changed how Xerox features are accessed. The print dialog has been completely redesigned and the features are listed vertically. However, due to all these changes, Xerox has identified an Apple issue on macOS 13 which results in missing Xerox features if driver version is 5.10.0 (or prior).
Please check for the driver availability for your printers by reviewing the compatibility document for macOS Monterey that is posted on the Xerox equipment compatibility with new operating systems page to see if a driver has been or will be created for your model of printer or multifunction device (MFD). There are 5 compatibility levels. Many printers will have a 1 in the Compatibility Level column. This indicates drivers are available for this product. A 2 in the column indicates that no driver is planned for the device.
Drivers for the new macOS are found on the support pages for the printers or MFD. To find the newest drivers navigate to the Xerox Support and Drivers page for your model. Make sure to choose the printer configuration you have, if applicable. Then select the macOS 12 Monterey operating system from the Operating System drop down menu. Select Apply Filter to see driver(s). Install the driver.
If the compatibility level column indicates a 2, no specific drivers are planned for that model printer. For a printer without a specific scan driver or when a print driver is not available, AirPrint and Scan to Email may be used as a workaround. Please see the article Macintosh OS Driver is Not Available in the online support for additional information.
AirPrint does not provide all the print features that the Xerox specific driver does. Scan to Email requires a network connection. Depending on the type of email service used, the service may require the email to leave the network. Additionally, scan to email requires an email server or email provider.
ps. I had an older xp machine that i used first. When i plugged the printer in to the type b, i was able to use the windows update catalog to find a driver for the ethernet bumbo-jumbo. That still didnt do anything near what I needed. This is a win7 machine now. I wanted to take the machine out of the equation. I believe this is now an issue with the printer.
Xerox sets the default for the USB A/B port (traditional printer USB cable, flat on one end and squarish with the corners knocked off on the other) to require their software, not use the native Windows Printer driver (!@#$!@%).
