Yes, this worked for my MacBook Pro which is the Late 2013 model. You need to go to the DisplayLink website and download the driver for your Mac, the driver is called "DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for Mac OS X." Then reboot your Mac and then plug in the Dell D3100.

I would like to use two external monitors with my Dell Inspiron laptop with a retina display and a Dell dock. I tried connecting one monitor to the dock but it is not visible in RL9. I understand this would require a driver for the external dock. Do they exist at all?

I have found the DisplayLink driver at github and installed it. I can now attach an external monitor to my Dell dock and see the output. What does not yet work is using xrandr to set the resolution of this monitor.
