This paper attempts to study the subject of Islamic creeds in Islamic Catechetical books (Ilmihal) published in the beginnig of Turkish Republic (1930-1965). After explaining the aim and the method in introduction, this study elucidates definition, history, and first kind of Catechetical books. By finding most of the works under the title of Ilmihal in library records and catalogues of books and publishers, they have been alfhabetically listed. Especially their way of eveluation the subjects of Islamic creeds, their contests in terms of the islamic principles of belief and their deficiencies have been examined. By doing so, this study contributes to look over the literature to rewrite its content to correspond the contemporary necessities of modern people. And also it provides a systematic, ready and easy knowledge to who wants to research the relevant subject.
