2025-26 ICCA Survey and Coach of the Year Ballot

Coaches,

As we enter the final stages of another great chess competition season, I want to thank you for all for your efforts.  On top of teaching, raising families, managing life, and everything else, you're taking the time to support young people as they learn to love this game.  And we all know that chess is just the reason we get together.  The real magic is in the life lessons that are learned along the way.  Thank you for being those who guide folks on that path.

Ok, enough fluff, on to business...

Click the link below to take this year's ICCA survey and Coach of the Year ballot.  Read all about these great folks on the ICCA CotY page.  Then, take a moment to complete the ballot and survey (which will close on Saturday 2/14/2026 at 11:00am).  Results will be announced at the IHSA State Chess Team Tournament and via email, website, etc.  That survey is the best way to tell us how we can better support your programs, so don't miss it!

Reminder - 

There will be an ICCA meeting on Friday, 2/13/2026 in the Lexus Room at the Civic Center.  If you can't be there, please feel free to send thoughts along with a friend.  I'll kick off the meeting with a few notes for everyone then turn it over to conferences to meet if they need.  We're building a community of devoted chess teachers, and we're looking to ensure this community continues to support the needs of its members.

Finally - 2026 High School Nationals!

Registration fees jump from $105 to $160 on February 16th!  So if you plan on going, or if you have players looking to register, NOW is the time!  We've made it easy to find everything you need on the Nationals page.  If you have questions, check there and if you still have questions, let me know!
