Chess Coaches,

Welcome back from winter break!  We hope that your time away from the classroom has been restful and warm.  And now it's time to turn our attention to CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON! With just a week or two to go with regular-season matches and events, we'll turn to Conference finals, IHSA Sectionals, IHSA+IESA State events, and then NATIONAL events!

To help sort out all the details, the January newsletter is attached and set with tons of helpful deadlines and information about getting it all done with help from our network of scholastic chess coaches.  We're all in this together, and it's a LOT to juggle; so let's make sure we're all getting these important steps done.  In the end, it's worth it to see the players competing!  You can find this newsletter and the entire archive at the ICCA site here: ILChessCoach.org/resources/icca-newsletter

Finally, it's definitely time to turn our attention to High School Nationals which are coming up at the end of March.  Click that link for the ICCA HS Nationals help-page where we've collected a ton of resources for you and your program.  I've also attached a flyer from US Chess that you can print and hand out to parents, players, neighbors, friends, colleagues, and everyone else that's going to want to attend this prestiguous National event!
