Hello Bird People,

A great sighting here today but unfortunately I missed it! There was a
Bird Walk here today with Alan Anderson leading & they found a WHITE
EYED VIREO. I tried to relocate the bird but could not find it.

Chicago Botanic Garden (7:45 am-12:15 pm)

Great Blue Heron (3)
Canada Goose (93, most at the B.Brown Reserve Pond)
Mallard (32, scattered)
Gadwall (1-PR, B.Brown Pond)
Hooded Merganser (1, female plumage)
Ring Billed (1) & Herring (1) Gulls
Cooper's Hawk (1 or 2)
Kingfisher (2)
Red Bellied (3) & Downy (H-1) Woodpeckers
Blue Jay (5-6)
Chickadee (H-2)
Red Breasted (3) & White Breasted (1) Nuthatches
Golden Crowned Kinglet (2)
Robins (~25)
Cedar Waxwing (1)
Starling (22)
Cardinal (4)
Tree Sparrow (1)
White Throated Sparrow (4)
Junco (9)
House Finch (12, all in one flock)
Goldfinch (6)
House Sparrow (~10)

Made a stop after lunch at Beck Lake & added Mourning Dove & Grackle
to my day list so my total was 28 plus roadside Pigeons for a final
total of 29.
Since my birds were nothing special, let's give Bird-Of-The-Day to the
bird walk group's
White Eyed Vireo which I wish I had seen.

I should add that there is a lot of road & other construction going on
& getting to the south
parts of the place is almost impossible for now.
