I heard the clicking sound and I said that sounds like a cuckoo, and then I'm like, that can't be a cuckoo that's insane! And then it started doing the song. Luckily I had just reviewed cuckoo sounds trying to learn the songs and differences between the black and the yellow-billed so I can improve my ability to bird. That's a lifer for my area in this suburban spot.
Plus I had a new black squirrel coming around, it was very tame unlike the other black squirrel which is really nervous. First time we've ever had black squirrels was this past year when I put out a birdfeeder!
And since I'm here anyway I also have a blue gray gnatcatcher sticking around this summer nesting in the area (first known to) and it comes to feed on my property. Also the Cedar waxwings are around so I assume they're nesting somewhere nearby also. They're waiting for the mulberries to show up and so am I. 😁
