Am sitting on the fence because it’s a “school night” for me. It’s called a gala but it’s business casual, not the high-society kind.
I love the way The Wetlands Initiative talks the talk and walks the walk of the conservation of wetland habitat. If you’ve birded TWI’s Dixon Waterfowl Refuge along the Illinois River or have enjoyed the fruits of its labor in the Calumet wetlands, you know what I mean. I do both plus participate in TWI’s Putnam County contribution to the ICF Midwest Crane Count in April, a great follow-up after greeting many of you a few weeks earlier at the Gull Frolic. .
I’ve enjoyed some fun social gatherings with birders, from kayaking to happy hours. To help nudge me off the fence on a school night, can you let me know if you’re going on 11/6?

BTW, speaking of crane counts, there were 1,800+ at Jasper-Pulaski this past week. Its website says the International Crane Foundation will have reps there on Saturdays.
