Hi all,
I was in Schaumburg yesterday on an errand, and thought I'd bird Busse Woods, a place I should be more familiar with. As I was driving away from the office towers toward Higgins, I saw a group of white pelicans soaring. I found a place to pull off and watched them glide overhead in a swarm. I also thought I saw a group of them in the water at Busse West, but couldn't get to them.
At the North Pond, I saw a group of r-b mergansers and managed to flush a group of about 15 coots that had been hugging the shoreline. One loon, one flicker on the grass, but not much more of greater interest.
Tried to get to the south pond, but I don't know the way. Can anyone tell me how?
