I was at the local forest preserves yesterday before sundown and I heard a loud bird singing which was unusual and it seemed like it was coming from higher up in the forest trees. I wasn’t sure what it was but then I was thinking that preacher preacher preacher representation sounded right and I remembered that was for ovenbird and I looked it up and it doesn’t sound exactly like the Sibley but it’s close. It’s really quiet but I’ll see if I can attach the audio clip here, I’m not sure if I can. It looks like it’s attached so I hope you can hear it, if someone is really good at singing birds and you could tell for sure please let me know, thanks!

Also yesterday morning I opened up the window and saw a bird zoom by and I said that’s weird and I thought it might be the Merlin though I’ve only seen one one since I last posted about it but it wasn’t the Merlin- it was the kestrel! 😄 It was a male and I think it caught a dragonfly which is also interesting. I know somebody further west of here who also recently saw a dragonfly which they said is unusual this time of year.
