Hello Bird People,

Said goodby to July 2026 by going once again to Baker's Lake & Techny
North where I saw the same birds I always see at those locations.
Mudflats continue to make a comeback at Techny North but more rain is
on the way so we may have to start over.

Baker's Lake (7:45-9:30 am)

White Pelican (only one & it was very hard to see behind tall vegetation)
D.C. Cormorant (110)
Great Blue Heron (5)
Great Egret (19)
(Both the Cormorants & Great Egrets are only at half the numbers they were at)
Canada Goose (17)
Wood Duck (2-AD & 5 young)
Mallard (4)
BALD EAGLE (1-AD)
Killdeer (12)
Spotted (3), Least (2) & Pectoral (3) Sandpipers
Ring Billed (3) & Herring (1) Gulls
Caspian Tern (31)
Rock Pigeon (a flock of 26 flying by)
Blue Jay, Crow, Robin, Song Sparrow & Goldfinch

Techny North (11-12:10 pm)

D.C. Cormorant (1)
Great Blue Heron (1) & Great Egret (1)
Mallard (5-AD & 6 young ones)
Turkey Vulture (3)
Osprey (1, hunting)
BALD EAGLE (1-fly-by, a young one)
Kestrel (2, a brief visit)
Killdeer (28)
Spotted Sandpiper (5)
Caspian Tern (5)
Pigeon (4) & Mourning Dove (1)
Flicker (1), Blue Jay, Rough Winged Swallow (1) & Starlings (flock of 75)

So 28 species at my 2 locations plus roadside House Sparrows for a
day's total of 29.
Bird-Of-The-Day will be the 2 Bald Eagles, flying & resting, &
Runner-Up to the Osprey.
