Hello Bird People,
Just a short report today. On Wed 8-10 Willets were reported late in
the day so I went on Thursday am & found no Willets. But later in the
day Leslie B reported 2 Willets & later there were 5 Willets. So again
I went in the morning & again I found no Willets.
Other shorebirds seen today were Killdeer (3-AD & 2 young), Piping
Plover (3-AD & 3 young),
Spotted Sandpiper (3) & my only migrant sandpiper, a Least Sandpiper.
Also about 80 Ring Billed & 3-4 Herring Gulls & one Caspian Tern.
Swallows were represented by Purple Martins, Tree, Rough Winged & Barn
Swallows.
The extra Piping Plover was Ray from Waukegan visiting today but not
welcomed by Sea Rocket & Imani who chased him off. Nothing else of
interest was seen today by me including those Willets.
