It's 3 in the afternoon and 90 degrees and purple martins are still migrating. It's been going on almost all day when I scanned the skies.

8.1.26 I am writing to share that Purple Martins are currently fledgling at the Whiting Lakefront Park, Purple Martin Sanctuary in Whiting, Indiana (photo).

This volunteer-led bird project continues a decades-old tradition established by former local residents who maintained backyard birdhouses. Additionally, this sanctuary effort successfully supported the Chicago Park District’s Purple Martin recovery project in the 1990s.
