to IBET - Illinois Birders Exchanging Thoughts
Hello Bird People,
Tough day today with the wind and snow flurries. Saw on Discord that
folks were still seeing the Solitaire in the morning so I changed
plans from the hawk watch to Calumet Park. Arrived at about 10 am &
spent 2 hours with Doug Stotz & Scott Lattimer but we could not
relocate the Solitaire. Then Sammy C showed up & within 10 min he
found the Solitaire in a different berry tree than it had been seen in
yesterday. Turns out we had been looking in a spot where it was no
longer frequenting. Soon we were joined by Jayne L & 2 others & we all
had good looks at the target bird although, as usual, it took me a lot
longer than the others to get those good looks. Unfortunately both
Scott & Doug had left before Sammy found the bird & were unable to
return.
Calumet Park (10 am-12:30 pm)
D.C. Cormorant (1)
TUNDRA SWAN (2-AD photos show the yellow lores & 2 young ones which
were probably Tundra's as well)

Ring Billed (18) & Herring (4) Gulls
Crows (6)
