Red breasted nuthatch!

A very nice surprise on a very not great day weatherwise! I just looked out the window and there was a nice fat healthy red breasted nuthatch in one of the yew trees we have. So I’m hoping that’s a good sign that maybe the redpolls will find me again! I’ve been waiting to see them since the last irruption when I enjoyed them most of the season that they were here. I put out more thistle two days ago and these darn house sparrows have decided they really like it so it’s gonna be competitive; if the redpolls do get here I’m interested to see what happens.
