Hello Bird People,
Again to Montrose still hoping for some special shorebirds but the
best I could do was one Ruddy Turnstone on the fishing pier.
Flycatchers are still going strong & I had 18 species of warblers.
Montrose Point (6:40-11:40 am)

Then a short stop at Techny North where the shorebirds were Killdeer
(9), Greater (1) &
Lesser (1) Yellowlegs, Spotted (6), Least (9) & Semipalmated (21) Sandpipers.
Also one WHITE RUMPED SANDPIPER which soon flew off & 2 Caspian Terns.
So 66 species at my 2 locations plus Kestrel & House Finch as roadside
additions for a day's total of 68. Bird-Of-The-Day will be the Black
Billed Cuckoo as I actually found it myself without having it been
pointed out by others. This doesn't happen very often!
Runners-Up will be the Ruddy Turnstone, the Olive Sided Flycatcher &
the Philly Vireo.

At Montrose (mostly) in Cook County today
