Unknown bird

This bird showed up in our Macon County backyard tonight.

Any ideas what it is?

It is a mystery and I am no expert but it could be what is called a crested domestic mallard. (I looked it up.)Some genetic weirdness or a hybrid.

The eye looks like a female wood duck’s. 

Birders smarter than me may know better but it was fun to speculate.

The long tail and patterning around the face also makes me think there are Muscovy Duck genes in there (https://birdhybrids.blogspot.com/2014/03/muscovy-duck-x-mallard.html).
