to IBET - Illinois Birders Exchanging Thoughts
Hello Bird People,
Today I did my June visit to Rollins Savannah where I missed some of
the birds I usually see but did see a few I don't usually see. So that
sounds like what usually happens.
It was another hot day made worse by the fact that there was hardly
any wind to cool things off.
And I did the full loop walk of about 3 miles or so which was a very hot walk.
Rollins Savannah (6:45-10:15 am)
D.C. Cormorant (2)
Great Blue Heron (3)
Great Egret (2)
TRUMPETER SWAN (only 1 adult, if there's a family group this year I missed them)

Mallard (3)
OSPREY (1, hunting the main pond)
Cooper's Hawk (1 fly-by)
Killdeer (2, not together)
