to IBET - Illinois Birders Exchanging Thoughts
Hello Bird People,
Kind of cold in the early morning so I just watched birds coming to
the feeders at the Welcome Center. Just saw the regulars, nothing
special.
Ryerson C.A. (9:30-11 am)
Rock Pigeon (3)
Mourning Dove (10)
Red Headed Woodpecker (3)
Red Bellied Woodpecker (3)
Downy Woodpecker (1-M & 1-F)
Hairy Woodpecker (1-F)
Pileated Woodpecker (Heard one along the river but couldn't see it)
Blue Jay (2)
Chickadee (3)
W.B. Nuthatch (2)
Robin (H-2)
Cardinal (1-PR & 1-F)
Junco (only 1 today)
House Sparrow (8-9)
I found no Finches of any kind today.
So 14 species for the day plus roadside Crows & Starlings for a day's
total of 16.
Bird-Of-The-Day to the Red Headed Woodpeckers & Runner-Up to the
"heard only" Pileated Woodpecker for an all Woodpecker awards day.
