to IBET - Illinois Birders Exchanging Thoughts
Hello Bird People,
No time for a full report today so just a few details will have to do.
Waukegan Beach
The only shorebirds seen by me were 4 Sanderlings but Bob E & Nat C
also saw one Piping Plover, one Semipalmated Plover & a Ruddy
Turnstone.
Stateline Beach
Just saw one Killdeer, one Spotted Sandpiper & lots of Ring Billed &
Herring Gulls.
Sand Pond Road Beach
D.C. Cormorant (5)
Canada Goose (4), Mallard (1) & COMMON MERGANSER (1-F)
Killdeer (3) & Spotted Sandpiper (1)
WHIMBREL (1, same place it was last time)
Ring Billed & Herring Gulls (No counts)
Illinois Beach South
Added a Great Blue Heron & a singing Carolina Wren
So 24 species for the day plus a roadside Crow for a day's total of 25.
Bird-Of-The-Day will be the Whimbrel & Runners-Up to the female Common
Merganser & the singing Carolina Wren.
