Baker's Lake (from the northern overlook) (8:55-10:05 am)
WHITE PELICAN (1, still here)
D.C. Cormorant (54)
Great Blue Heron (6)
Great Egret (down to only 14)
Mallard (5)
RUBY THROATED HUMMINGBIRD (1)
Sandhill Crane (1 calling fly-by)
Killdeer (6)
Spotted Sandpiper (1)
Pectoral Sandpiper (1)
Ring Billed (2) & Herring (1) Gulls
Caspian Tern (18)
BALD EAGLE ( the usual adult)
Mourning Dove (H-1)
Blue Jay (H-2), Crow (3), Chickadee (H-1) & Goldfinch (2)
So 19 species at Baker's Lake & one roadside addition for a day's total of 20.
Bird-Of-The-Day will be the Hummingbird as I don't think I have ever
seen that one here before.
Runners-Up to the Sandhill Crane, the Pelican & the adult Bald Eagle,

In Cook County today for only a short time
